Music

I’m not sure what this page will become. I do know that music is essential to thriving, so let’s see what emerges!

This is a rare listen to the Tour Choir of the Maryland State Boychoir rehearsing for their upcoming trip to the ACDA National conference in Salt Lake City. Being the only choir chosen to represent Maryland is quite an honor. I will write someday about the powerfully moving experience of hearing them sing this same song on July 4, 2014, “Walk Through the Valley in Peace.” These photos are from that event at the Mardasson Memorial, built by the Belgians to thank America for the many sacrifices at the Battle of the Bulge.

I’ve long been a fan of the Playing for Change project. Their tagline is “connecting and inspiring the world through music.” When I watched this heart-opening rendition of “Gimme Shelter” from a couple dozen musicians around the globe, I felt so hopeful. Humans can create such beauty, truly. It’s all we need. Enjoy!
